Overview
Hospitals are just one stop in the continuum of care. Collaborations between hospitals and post-acute care providers (such as home health care and hospice agencies) are increasingly important for quality improvement and continuity of patient care.  While these collaborations can offer many benefits, they can also pose compliance risks if the relationship is not properly structured.  This program will educate members on legal considerations when entering into financial arrangements and other collaborations with hospitals.

This program will discuss:

  1. Recent governmental enforcement actions and guidance involving relationships between hospitals and post-acute care providers
  2. Fraud and abuse as well as patient privacy considerations relating to data sharing and other arrangements between hospitals and post-acute care providers
  3. The importance of picking the right hospital partner and considerations when approaching a hospital
  4. What to consider when seeking “preferred” PAC status by a hospital.
